Welcome to Athens…
…the cradle of western culture with an ever-present sun, amazing sights and a warm and friendly populace. A rather young capital with 900 000 inhabitants (metropolitan Athens 3,6 million). The most famous landmark, the Acropolis raise high above the modern city as a memory of the antique.

A must to visit and experience
There is plenty to see and do in the capital located at the coast. Acropolis, Agora - antique market, Lycavittos Hill, the open-air theatres, the many temples and museums and the sea life are some places you should not miss. A pulsing nightlife and excellent shopping are other areas that makes Athens a must to visit and experience.

The Olympic City
Athen´s is the real “Olympic City”. The first Olympic Games took place in Greece in 776 BC ( see our “Olympic History”) and the first modern Olympics were held in Athens in 1896. Therefore it is about time that the modern Olympic Games return in 2004 to Athens after 108 years.
