The new Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport is named after one of the former prime ministers and leading political persons of modern Greece. This modern airport have bus services that go directly to the city centre and in the near future the Metro will reach the airport. Several international airlines are landing here and if you are planning to travel domestic there are flights both to more than 20 Greek islands as well as to the mainland.

The leading domestic carrier is Olympic Airways followed by Cronus Airlines, Air Aegean and Air Greece.
